Default 92 honda four trax 350 fan diagnostics

Does any one have diagnostic procedures for my cooling fan on my 92 honda fourtrax 350 it's running hot no fan comming on smells hot IF SO PLEASE EMAIL JIMP@NRTCO.NET

There should be a wire from the fan that splits, one goes to power, the other should go to a plug either on the radiator, or oil line for temperature switch. Pull the plug, and the fan should come on, or you may need to short the terminals on the plug. If the fan runs normally,you have a bad thermo switch. If the fan will not come on, and you verify power at the plug, you have a bad fan. You should be able to freely spin the fan blades by hand to make sure the fan is not locked up.
