Default 03 400ex rear caliper question...

Im trying to change the rear pads on an 03 400ex. Does the entire piston retract onto the caliper or is there a caliper sleeve? kinda hard to explain, but i orderd brake pads from ebay that said they are the correct ones (i know...) and they seem way to big. They look exacly the same as the stock ones, but the actual pad surface is too big to fit into the caliper. It looks like the caliper sleeve would move, but it wont budge. Thoughts?

Use a C-clamp to compress the caliper cylinder back in.
