Honda Foreman 450s Shifter

I have a Foreman 450s that a branch came up from the bottom and shoved the shifter up and broke something inside. The bike is stuck in reverse and the shift arm will lift all the way up and over, something must have broke inside. Any Ideas?

is the shifter itself fine, or is it stripped / broke? a picture might help...

The "gearshift arm A" has a ball type end that goes in an oval hole in the sub-gearshift spindle .. Sounds like the ball broke off..
