On my daughter's PowerMax 150cc (GY6 motor)
I drain the gear oil (maybe) near the drive sprocket with the sight glass in it.
Now my Question is:
Is this normal gear oil, I did the smell test and it does not have the strong smell like normal gear oil has. It did run out thick though like gear oil.

Who really knows what the Chinese use....On both of my 150's I drained out a thick oil(no real smell) and replaced it with 90wt Gear Oil..

 

Did you just fill to the top of the sight glass ?

Mine dont have sight glasses....seems to me it held about 5 ozs...Id fill to about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up the sight glass if I had a sight glass...

 

Thanks just got back in from the garage...Filled it just near the top of the sight glass............Man!!!...The stuff I let drain overnight is allfull!!!!

Dark thick....And the top look like dried up bacon fat only dark black cokor though!!!
I can't believe I left it in there the past two years..........LOL......Thanks again....Caper.............
