Default tire question on 250 recon 2x4

Hello all,
I have a two part question regarding tires for my 2006 recon 250 2 wheel drive.
The first being this,I have to replace the stock tires and have my eyes on some gbc gators but they only have ones close to my size which is 22-10-9...the ones I want are 22-11-9,
will the extra 1" width fit on my stock rim?
Also, would ya'll recommend getting the same tires on the front as well ( being a slightly smaller size)? I was thinking that being two wheel drive only that the deeper lugs on the front tires might not be benificial and plow more than something with less bite, what does everone think?
Thanks and happy riding!

Mudlites make a sport version that aren't as aggressive as the ones for utilities, you may want to look into that, you don't want to load down that little motor with too much tire. Going 1" wider is no problem, just watch your pressure, you may need to run them lower to keep it from wearing the middle down first, one reason to stay close to stock size. The same tire on the front is ok, but to keep the steering light and precise, you may want to look into something like a Razr or Holeshot type front, with good steering ribs to get that front end where you point it. More grip in the back may tend to push the front a bit more, making fast corners a little more of a challenge. Unless you have a lot of muddy trails, maybe look into something like the Maxxis Alltrac or something similar.
