Default 2010 Can Am Outlander 800 XP

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could give me the good and bad on the 2010 Outlander 800. The one that I looked at was all black and sharp looking!.

I may be moving over to Can Am, but not sure yet.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

The new 2010's look like a very addictive machine. The only thing I still question on the Can-Am's is the frame issues they seem to have!!!!

I have an 2010 Outy XT-P and i love it.As for the frame issue if you put on a set of skids i believe its fine unless you hit a tree real hard but that will be the same with any machine. The machine rides great and has more power than any other quad. The power steering is great.I will never own anything but a Can Am.

I rode an 800 2-up for a day in the snow.

Power was impressive but the ergonics are terrible.

I don't like a single braking system either.

If a locking front end was important to me I would rather haven one that I manually locked so I could cotrol it.

The ride was good but the front suspension hit hard when it bottomed out which it did quite oftern.

It also leans hard and pushes bad in the corners.

I would like to have all that power in something that handled it better.

That's funny, the Outlander is the best handling utility on the market. Ergonomics? great unless you are freakishly short or tall.

OHH I see it doesn't compare to an 01 Rubicon!

Thank you for your honest opinion. I'd like to ride one first to see if I really do like it

Maybe the second best handling utility on the market. It's got nothing on straight axle 500's.

Of course I find the XP chassis to be the best on the market, but that's just me and a few others here. The outty's are great rides too.

I don't think any quad should have single lever brakes, including my own chosen brand of quad.

The porportioning on the single lever is so good, you will never feel the need for two levers again. If you need just the rear, there is a foot brake for that, but if you are in
4-wd it stops all four wheels anyway.

Put 11,000 miles on one and then we'll compare notes and repair bills.

Very poor instrumentaion (and hard to see) and ign key location, the wheels have to be pointed straight or you can't reach the key. The 4-wd switch is also in an awkward position.

The ergonomincs of a Bomb will never compare to those of a Honda, sorry.

The ride was smooth, comfortable and the power was impressive.
