Hello,

I just aquired a decent 1985 Honda 110 ATV for $100.00. The machine was sitting for a fairly long time and all three tires are dry rotted.

Anyway, the machine has no spark and I'm not sure where to start looking for the issue.

Can anyone give me some advice as to what to check for on these machines? There is a CDI box on the side of the engine, and when I pulled the cover off, the components appeared to be in good shape.

check the spark plug first. as there known to go though plugs. on my 185s i had to replace plugs on it a few times a yr. just to start with. if that dont work go here for a wire diagram. make shure all is good on that end. then start checking wires. http://www.files.3wheelerworld.com/Wiring/ATC110x85.jpg

 

where was it sitting was it out side ?

 

Check the on, off switch, wires become corroded and break inside and if it broke in the off position it may still be grounded, found that a few times.

 

there are free manuals available for download on the net, check the 3 wheeler world sites. The manuals have step by step testing procedures for all the electrical parts, they are great.
