anyone have one and what do you like or don't about it?
I was thinking about buying the low profile windshield polaris has, does anyone have one? does it do anything?
I am afraid if I buy a larger wondshield it will crack the first branch it hits out on the trail.

I wouldn't be without mine in the winter!! I have a aftermarket, it's tall and wide protecting the hands as well, it's purpose after all is to protect you from the wind, I wouldn't want a low pro. It's a must have in cold climates imho.
I try not to run mine through the woods, it'll get scratched and maybe broken if your not careful. When I do run through the woods, I'm careful not to scratch/break it. Mine is removed from april-dec., once the snow falls and lakes freeze up it's put back on.

i got a high profile one. i like it. i had it on a while ago for a ride it did good for blocking the cold wind on the hands and face. i also have hand thumb warmers they also help.
i dont think a low profile one would be any help on the face to block the wind.
as for them breaking. i have my wheeler on a trailer in a storage shed. well i didnt have the door all the way up when i pulled it out. so about 3" of it hit the bottom of the door. it must have flexed and whent under the door. i didnt evon notice that tell after a bit and wondered why i had a line across the windshield. where it scraped the bottom of the door. yup thats why. im suprised it didnt break.... now i make shure the door is all the way up.

I just got mine. I bought it from my local dealer. I had the choice of the high or low one. The low one that they offered was only an inch or so lower. I got the taller of the two. So far I am very happy with it. Clamps on to the handlebars and is easy to remove.

ill have to disagree with the part of it being easy to put on and take off. when i got mine it was a pain to get it around the wires, brake line, and the throttle cable. if there was nothing in the way it be faster to add and remove. so what i did was just remove the the 2 bolts/screws that hold it to the arms and leave the arms on the bars....

We have windshields on all three 500,s I broke one in the cold a couple of years ago. 90% of wheelers in the UP run windshields. The only time we pulled them off is when we went out west a couple years ago. We ride a lot of thick brush, breaking is not a problem.

Our sp500s both have the popo low profiles. Don't do anything for the cold, but do look nice. Keeps some of the mud off your body. No problem trailering with them on and no issues in the brush.
(Hopefully I did this right -- my 1st post finally!!!)

Wwelcome to the Forum Rally.
I installed the taller windshiel on Mine 05 Sp.400 and it definetely keeps the cold off.
The main purpose for My 4 weeler is icefishing and I made one trip out without a windshield or handwarmers,When I got back home the first thing I did was install both items and I`ll never ride without them now.
