My friend's '01 Recon was acting up today by not showing the green neutral light and therefore not knowing it was in neutral and unable to crank over.Does anyone know what would cause this and where the neutral safety switch is located? Thanks

I believe that the recon can be pull started in gear...but I was too lazy to ever try it.

I have had the same problems on my Recon more than once. However, I have tried to pull it in gear but it would not turn ove. I fixed the problem pretty quickly quite a few times. All you got to do is put in the lowest gear posible and give the pull cord a few good yanks but the engine will not turn over. Then try to kick it in to neutral again. Hope it helps and if it does tell me!

I have an 01 recon and have had a simaliar problem. i found that if you rock it back and forth a little moving the traney a littl helps it shift if it is stuck "in between gears"or just won't shift if it is sitting still. yes it can be pull started in any gear i have done it, just be careful becuase it is in gear and could run off on yah if you tap the throttle to warm it up.
