Default Oil filter leaking??

OK so I finally got to use the ATV with the plow the other night and it worked GREAT! Just one small problem, the next night I went out to the garage and saw a little oil on the floor and Im 100% sure its leaking from the filter...I dont think it was leaking before I plowed but who knows. Anyone else out there ever had this?

Thanks

When I took delivery of my 800 last February everything was fine. I'd say within a month I started to see a little oil on the garage floor and could not see where it was coming from. I finally decided to give the filter a little twist. The filter was barely on finger tight. I gave it a little more pressure and have never had an oil leak since. That was the original filter from the factory. Reach under there and make sure it's tight enough. I'd say if it's still leaking do an oil change and make sure the oil filter gasket is intact and the whole area is clean. If you keep seeing a leak after that you may want to start looking somewhere else.

Did that last night gave it a little twist to tighten it up and it was lose a bit, just kinda shocks me that I rode this summer with 0 prbs and the first time I plow it leaks a bit. Didn't know if it might be the cold or something like that....or just one of those things lol

Thanks for the info!

when things are cold they tend to contract. maybe it might have been enough to where it was a little loose and caused it to leak.
