Question 206 500efi sportsman fuel gauge

The fuel gauge on my 2006 sportsman is stuck on Full.
Any ideas what to check first?

Default float switch

OK, how does it come out? Or can I reach it with a coat hanger from the fuel cap and move it around a bit?
Thanks: Bob

you should have to unbolt the sending unit form the tank and remove the whole unit completely. i believe it houses the sending unit as well as the fuel pump. becareful not to damage anything including the wires. imo

You're lucky, at least you can correct your problem, those of us that don't have any fuel amount show on the guage, are out of luck and need to buy a whole new tank.

Have the same problem with my 2006 EFI Sportsman, but as soon as the fuel gauge stuck the engine stared cutting off but will restart, acts like it is getting too much gas. Are these problems connected?
