Default long awaited update...5 YEARS..

so many of you may know i have an 04 ds X that has had elecrtical issues since the first day i brought her home...it has sat in gagrage except for the accassional ride..replaced all electrical parts multiple times...4 batteries..starters..wires harness...cdi's..and much more..i have spent many hours on phone with all members of this forum to tackle this thing(thank u all)...well i met someone who says he could look for me one last time for no charge..so he has stated he found 2 things...1---regulator pumping out way to many volts over 18v..blowing aux lights over and over..not sure how i missed it..mine volt meter nevr read that...we will see...2--a short in the aux lighting that was touching frame..re wired entire light system and all systems check out...i havent tested it yet cause of blizzard we are having....DO EITHER OF THESE THINGS SOUND GOOD?

Hopefully this cures ALL of your ills. With the troubles you've endured with that thing you owe yourself a trip out to Glamis to make up for some lost time. You could try and hook up with the Flatlanders annual trip, or there is another group that comes out every year from NY. They bring a tractor trailer so I know they'd have room for one more.
Reward yourself, you deserve it after all of this.

Have you ever replaced the voltage rectifier/regulator?

Hole-e-sheet!!!
I can't imagine what you've been through. That bike should have been taken care of by the factory.
