Default Exhaust pop on '06 DS 650

I rebuilt the Carb completely because the exhaust was popping when it would idle down. I have noticed that the idle adjustment is set too low and I will adjust that when I ride it again, Would it be possible that its the idle being set too low?

Sound's like you're jetting/fuel air mixture id running to lean , i would do a spark plug check to see what color the plug is , if the plug color is a whitest/grey you're to lean , if the color is a black you're to rich ; the corect color should be a tanish/brown !

One other thing your combustion chamber could have exccesive carbon buildup causing your trouble , mix some fresh fuel with Sea Foam i call this product a engine rebuild in a can ; Sea Foam will clean your fuel system and also burnup the carbon buildup in the combustion chamber and the mix ratio on the can and still carries the same money back satifaction warrany that it had when it first showed up on Part's stores !

It wasn't stocked in auto parts stores untill just a few years ago , but back then you could only find it at Marine.boat stores in 1942 ; it's the best fuel treatment i'v ever found in over 20 years of running my own shop untill i retired in late 1997 good luck i hope this help's you !

Its probably an exhaust valve thats too tight... A lean condition will make it pop through the carburetor, not the exhaust...

Thanks guys, I only have maybe 30 hours on it since I bought it new. It was the last one at the dealer in '07. It was running fine until it sat for 6 months, then I took it out with fresh fuel(drained the tank only) and it started doing it. I cleaned the carb completely and thought that would clear it up and it did somewhat except for that last little pop when it starts to idle down after releasing the throttle.
