ADC leak on front diff. 2007 800 efi
#1
I have a 2007 sportsman 800. It does not have a ADC switch, therefore it is always on. The fluid is coming from between the ADC pump and front gear case. I took off the ADC pump unit (thats what the parts book calls it), and there were two o-rings there, both looked good. The service manual says this unit is non-serviceable and has to replaced as a whole unit.
I'm concerned that it may be something other than the pump. Just seems odd to me that it is leaking so bad and the seals look fine. The parts book doesn't even show new o-rings. It will loose all the fluid just plowing my driveway. I dont see anywhere else it could be coming from.
I dont care if the ADC works or not but will running machine w/out ADC fluid ruin anything? Can I dis-able the ADC unit?
I replaced the big o-ring but not the little one since its an odd size and shape, but still leaks the same.
Thanks for any help.

Check out this thread under "on/off switch for adc" sheepdog is the poster. Post #19 has pics and all info. Did this to my sportsman and it works well. Also saves the adc from over working itself when you don't need it.

It does have a vent. It is not leaking front diff fluid, only ADC fluid. I did replace the smaller washer style o-ring wiyh a regular o-ring. If we get some snow soon I'll post if that worked.
