95 polaris 400 no spark-$

Default 95 polaris 400 no spark-$
a guy came over today and said he had a 400scrambler for sale for $900.00-BUT the starter doesnt work and it doesnt have any spark,what do you guys think?

Bad stator (alternator/generator) and a dead battery because of it?

Could be a dead coil or coil wire too.

You really just have to take a meter and test things while someone pulls it over with the pull rope.
