New clutch creeps?
#1
Just put a 06 800 primary on my 02 700 with a new 800 belt(3211130) and now I have some creep going on and very hard to shift. I have a Team roller secondary as well. Does the belt need some time to break in and stretch a touch or does something need to be adjusted?

not sure what that belt fits. what year is the clutch off and what bike? could be the wrong belt and it's too short, meaning its too tight causing the creepage. could be the primary has a worn out ebs bushing or fiber washers.

Did the old secondary have any shims behind it? Does the belt favor any side of primary? Should be riding the middle not favoring either side. All i can think of is clutch alignment may be off......

I think that belt (part number 3211130) is a heavy duty replacement for the 3211106 belt.
It was mainly for the Razers that were ripping up belts, but
It should work OK with the parts you have provided your Primary is EBS.
I just bought 2 of the 3211106 belts, so they still are around.
As Stendori said, the 3211106 is what came stock on those parts.
You probably just need to align the clutches & belt with each other.
I had this problem before. It's easy with the tool, provided you have one.
You can do a pretty good job of it just by eyeballing where the belt
rides on the Primary. Just shim the Secondary as required.
Check out the distance between the 2 clutches as well. Center to center is critical.
You might also check your Motor Mounts to make sure one isn't broken.
Good Luck.
Edit: You are correct. The 3211106 belt has been superceded with the new 3211130 belt,
according to my dealer. It should work fine for what you are using. Check your Clutch Alignment!

it's ben awhile since i have bought a blet and that is the pn# polaris had on thier parts list. is the enigne mounts good and is the clutch ligned up? when at idle the belt should be setting about 1/8" above the secondary and no higher. you may be able to pull aprt the secondar and shim it to let the belt sit lower in the secondary. imo.

any secondary that is used with EBS CANNOT be shimmed, the secondary clutch is to put constant pressure on the belt, NO DEFLECTION. Are there grooves on the inside of the belt? If not are there grooves on the clutch- all the way at the bottom where the belt would ride on the crankshaft. For the belt-clutch combo to work properly you have to have grooves on clutch and belt, or not have grooves on either one, if one is grooved and not the other there will be too much tension on belt potentially causing your "creeping" problem.

It has 2 washers behind it. It works fine.
I've seen shim washers on several.
Are we talking about the same thing??
I'm talking shim washers behind the scondary, before it's slid on the shaft.
Maybe you're talking shimming the actual secondary sheeves? (like on a sled?)
Scramblers don't have EBS

Where are you getting your information from? I'm curious.
It sounds like you should remove 1 of the spacers from behind the secondary, Wildman.
Give it a try and let us know if it's better or worse.
