2006 polaris sportsman 450 stator
#1
I have a 2006 polaris sportsman 450 and its not starting the spark plug will fire once and thats it. I think its a stator or a coil pulser can anyone help,I bought the polaris used and dont know any thing about it. I know the recoil housing had water get into it and it was pretty dirty in the recoil housing. I pulled the flywheel it was rusted so took it and had it bead blasted and cleaned the coil pulser and the bike will still not start. Will a stator from an older polaris work on my 2006 450 polaris as long as it will bolt up?

Check the gap between the coil pickup and flywheel, pull stator and have a cycle shop test it. Check with Ricky Stator for a stator. Ricky Stator - Manufacturer of ATV & Dirt Bike Stators, Electrical Components, Lighting Systems and Suspension Products.
Try a new plug too.

I talked to the dealer and a mechanic told me to disconnect the black wire from the CDI and see if that helps it when I did the spark plug will spark like five times. The carb is off and if you spray it with starting fluid it will start,I need to put the carb back on and see if it will run. I know it wasnt ever taken in for the recall I will do that, thanks for the the help.
