I recently bought a 92 250x and I need more power the bike is completely stock right now. I was thinking of buying a fmf megamax or a supertrapp IDS, which would be best? Also I was think about a higher compression piston. How much would this help my bike?

Get the suppertrap, I've heard bad things about FMF silencers. Also with the supertrap get the head pipe as well. If you get a higher compression piston it will give you more power all around, but dont expect something radical. A coupple other mods that will inhanse the pipe and piston would be to remove the air box lid and drop in a wilder cam and valve springs. Rejet everything when your done and ride it like ya stole it!

I have the IDS2 supertrapps pipe/silencer and it's a very nice piece. Very good quailty and is tunable.
I suggest getting the supertrapps, drilling some holes in your airbox lid (unless you ride in alot of water), install an aftermarket air filter (i like UNI), then when you have the money either get a 330 kit for some real power, or get a high compression piston, and cam.

i will agree on everything mike300ex said.

Uni filters are the best !!IMHO!!

Supertrapp work good with stock and modded out motors. you won't be disappointed
