can anyone please tell me where the cdi unit for a 97 trailblazer is located?

 

Located under the front panel,just pops off. Cdi units are pretty reliable for the most part if you have an electrical problem. OPT

 

im thinking it elecrical, it ran fine befor winter. Went out to start it this weekend and nothing. I darined all gas and cleane the carb before i stored it for winter. It has good compression and spark and gets fuel but a no go?

 

If its got good spark and compression,the cdi isnt the problem. I'd recheck the fuel system. OPT

 

i think it may be the carb, as it seems to be getting to much fuel. As when u try to start it i notice fuel spraying out on the intake side?

 

One other thing i noticed now that the carb is off, but isnt there not suppose to be reeds in there. The only other 2 stroke i have is a banshee and i thought all 2 strokes are reed inducted?

 

The 250 engine is a piston port engine and does not have reeds. OPT

 

I have 02 250 tb & have put many hours on it, every time I have had a
starting problem it has always been low compression. U said comp is good, how
did u check it & what psi did it read? I fully realize other things can go wrong
& may need to be checked out. did u notice any slow down in starting last year?
When my compression is real good it starts as fast as I can turn the key!!!
every time!! when the compression drops it turns into a very hard starter.
the only other problem I had is the carb to cylinder boot cracked & was leaking
air in & messing it up. maybe this will help u

 

It had something to do with to much fuel, as trying to start it last night for an hour it finally fired but then u give it throttle and the gas was coming out the exhuast. So i pulled the carb again and cleaned it and left it off. Put it back on this morning and fired right up and has been running good since!
