Default ATA125-D will not start

I purchased the ATA125-D. It will not start. It will turn over, but will not fire up. I have tried using the choke, checked the fuel, checked connections. It simply will not fire up.

Do you have spark? Pull out the spark plug, wire it up and hold the plug threads against the engine while cranking the starter. You should see a spark across the plug gap.

mine wouldn't start either. I found that the kill switch had no supply voltage. I ended up placing a jumper from the hot wire of the green neutral light to the kill switch.

Like Lynn says, start by checking for spark. By pulling the spark plug, you'll also be able to see if it's getting fuel. Other than that, make sure your kill switches are in the proper position. I know the slider switch on the left handlebar, if left in the 'kill' position will allow the starter to crank, but no fire. I believe the others won't even allow power to the starter if in the no-go position. IIRC, by ATA110 took some cranking before it fired for the fist time. Now it starts easily. You may have to play with the choke a bit and feather the gas while cranking.

i have a new hi-bird 150..wouldnt fire up but only a few sputters. became a master of disassembling/reassembling the carb. after days of confusion i figured i would spray a little starting fluid in air breather while trying to start, started right up !! and now starts every try. you may try that !

I had this same problem with my atv all what was wrong was that when my dad started looking around as I was trying to crank it he saw that there was no nut or bolt on this screw that is on the carburetor. If that screw is lose it allows air into the carbureto and it will not crank. You should try it work for me
