Question Why a 35lb weight gain from a H.O to efi 500?

2009 Polaris Sportsman® 500 EFI ATVs

I know the EFI has heavier 26" tires vs the H.Os 25" tires but that should be moe than canceled out by the H.O having steel rims vs the efi's lighter alloy rims. The 500 efi comes stock with a winch and the H.O does not maybe? Is the brain box that runs the EFI that heavy?

The winch is not light and the 26" tires are quite a bit heavier. The winch and mounting weigh at least 15 lbs.

the Aluminum rims are probbly just as heavy if not heavier than the steel wheels they are a lot thicker than the steel wheeles and the winch alone is probbly close to 30 LBS with the mounting kit and roller. According to DennisKirk.com the warn 2.5I winch is 27lbs shipping weight.
Also an average aluminum rim rolls in at just about 14lbs for a 12 inch wheel and a 12 inch steel rim rolls in at right about 14lbs

i would say the winch has alot to do w/ it as well and the bigger tires are for sure more weight and beleave it or not the alum. rims are lighter then the steel ones even though it doesnt seem it.
