Default $1800 what do i buy

I just cae across some money and am looking for a new machine. I have about 1800 to spend but im having trouble deciding what to spend it on. I ride a 85 quadsport lt230s now, nice old quad but i'd like something newer. I'd like something with electric start, at least 400 cc and has to be a sport quad. The only thing i can find are 400ex's, are they a decent quad? Any pros or cons

400ex's are slow compared to other 400's,their aircooled, but the motors are bulletproof.

For that price the EX is going to be easiest to find. They are solid and a huge step up from the Zuki. You are right to stay away from anything less than 400cc, as the upgrade won't be worth it long term.

For a couple more $$ you might be able to find a Honda 450... at least around the B-more Washingting area. Not a huge bump from the 400 but the IRS is nice. I have seen some z400's and older Raptors in the ballpark as well. Search craigslist and don't be afraid to drive a few hundred miles for a good quad...

i concur with checking out craigslist. a 400ex isnt a bad choice, as there are a lot of mods you can do after you get used to the difference from your 230. good luck!

Yea alot of times people don't have the time or can't afford to have that "For Sale" sign up for months...so they normally a give a low price to get ride of it...but sometimes that lower then average price worries and pushes us away because we think something might be wrong with it...

But also look at some dealer websites...I bought a 2007 Polaris Predator 500 for $3,400...and it comes wit a 6 month warranty...and it's brand new...the dealer bought it from another dealer...but since it's a 07...they can't sell it for the same price as a 2010 ya know?...i'm picking it up this weekend...
