If you can afford it buy a 450 but if not the 400's are good too. I had a EX and like it's been said they are bulletproof and need hardly any maintenance other than oil changes. The z's and kfx's are faster but I know guys and they seemed to work on tuning them too much but I am slightly honda bias.

 

ive actually been looking alot latley too, But i live in Canada. Ive been seeing Raptor 660's, Ds650's, and Predator 500's for right around $3000cdn. How are they? sorry to hijack the post. I saw a Ds650 Baja for $2500cdn, but im not sure about rotax reliability..

 

I'm also in canada the ds is'nt very good for power to weight ratio (kinda underpowered for such a large sport quad) Out of the ones you listed the raptor would be my first choice. let me know what type of riding you do and i can let you know a idea of the best ones for you. (some examples trail, track, sand, whoops, rocks.) if you give me a idea i would be happy to give you my opinion.

 

Okay thanks, I mostly do trail, rocks, and a little mud. I was also thinking of a scrambler? I'm not sure. I know for a fact that I want a fourstroke

 

I always thought a scrambler would be nice a automatic and 4x4 option but i am not to sure on how reliable they are. Also the yamaha wolverine is the same style as that.
