My friend has a 400ex and when we go riding his stock tires pop on the rugged terains that we ride on. I'm getting the 400ex soon and my question is what aftermarket tires are the best and I want something that is 6-ply. Who makes the strongest and most reliable rims and what size would fit into the tires that you recommend

Thanks,
Dan

I just got a set of xct{6 ply} holeshots on .190 douglas rims from rocky mountain atv I like them they hook up real well got the 22/11/9 for the rear an the 23/7/10 for the front $425.00 shiping an all, an only 3 days to get here I live in northern nevada an I know what you mean by needing a tough tire/the other thing I like is you gain 1 inch of ground clearance in the swing arm area too . Keep your stock tires an use them in the sand the radials work real well with a low air pressure like 1-2 lbs. for the rear

I just ordered a set of Mud Sharks for mine. My buddy has a set an loves them, they are 2 yrs old and like new. My brother has Holeshots on his Warrior, and in mud, water and snow they are like trying to get traction on a truckload of bannana peels. They may be good for very dry conditons or racing, but for the average trail rider who see's all the eliments in the woods they are a turd.

Just my 2 cents!

Hello ,4 lbs in the front 3 lbs. in rear for trails an yes this time of year in the desert there is mud an snow we went up a canyon last weekend there was about 8 in. of snow above 6,ooo ft we made it up till the snow got to deep about 7,500 ft
Below the snow we had tons of mud an they did great maybe be cause it was on the first ride on them but the other bike with the bandits had a lot of trouble.
No ,I am not saying the holeshots are the best mud an snow tire but ,they are good for more then just mx racing. If I just had my wheeler in mud all the time it would have itp spider trax on the rear,I rode the mud in Black Water Wv. an yet that the spiders then was 2 ply dick cepecks{that was 11 years ago} the tread is still the same/ only 4 ply now an a better rubber compound

I got a set of 22/11/9 maxxis razr's. they hook up very well, but kinda hard to slide around. they do good in mud, maybe better than holeshots I think because of the larger spacing between *****.
