Default One way Bearing Seized up on 07 Sportsman 800, now what?

So Ive been having horrible problems with my atv creeping in low gear, and now recently in high. Come to find out I had 2 motor mounts broken, so I replaced those.

Now I took my clutch out and the one way bearing is locked up tight inside the primary clutch. Ive tried to heat it up and clean it, but no such luck. Dealer says its 130 for a new one way bearing and 80+ bucks to put it in.

I'd appreciate if anyone knew a route to take to try and fix it?

You could have the clutch spacer or washer worn causing some of the problem,BUT you have to have the spyder tool to be able to get to it! Sometimes dealers are necessary evils even you doityourselfers who don't like the dealers prices, but sometimes not worth buying tools and having them used one time only?? Plus the one way is a little tricky if you let the small roller bearings and spring plates fall out. You might add up the costs and see which is the best way to go. OPT

Opt is correct, IMO. Unless you have a group of people who ride the same or similar atv's like I do than the dealer may be the way to go. We have 7 of us who have same or similar sportsman year's and it paid for us to do it ourselve's. I have found it cheaper to wrench on them myself than to buy new all the time. You still have to wrench on the new one's.

Good Luck

I usually do all the work myself...its just odd because I inspected it about 100 miles ago and it was working perfectly fine. I ordered the crush washers because I was going to have those replaced, but then returned them after I found out they were fine...now it is jammed up really tight on the inner clutch plate. Might have to bite the bullet and bring it to a shop.

I didnt know if anyone has ever had this problem, the shop said it is very uncommon for the one way bearing to seize up

that is a false statement as if you did a search on here you would find alot of the ebs busing have gone bad or it willl be the wahers on the outside of the bushing which is designed to turn one way and not the other. if you fon't have a spider tool to take it apart then pretty much you need a dealer to do for you.
