ANY GUESSES??? Me and my buddy are guessing its a 2000 bayou, but look at the pics for a 2000 bayou, the stickers dont match? any ideas?

 

I didn't think 'saki made black plastic until more recently....could be the owner bought replacement plastic from Maier and put different stickers on it...just guessing

Looks like a 03 Kawasaki 300 , they had black plastic.

 

Nope, it was either only RED or GREEN, no black.

Black plastic Bayou 300's were produced at least for 3 years from 1991 to 1993.

 

Sorry my mistake. Typed in wrong year I had a 93 Kawasaki black just like the one in the picture. Mine had a lever to lock in the rear wheels.

 

i think the 2WD models had rear diffrential lock, and the 4x4 models did not have that option

 

You are almost right.

The 2WD model had a so-called dual mode rear diff lock.

The 4x4 model did not have the rear diff-lock, but it had a limited slip FRONT diff lock system.

 

Kawasaki came out with the 4x4 bayou in 1989 and one color option was black with different decals. I had a 1994 model that was red but it had those same decals so Im not sure but I dont think that color option was available after 1995.
