Default Will a clutch kit help a stock 500 HO much?

I've got an 06 500 HO, stock everything.

Will a clutch kit improve this machine much?

I'm not to crazy about it's current throttle response and the way it grips the dirt.

It's very difficult to ride a wheelie, and won't hardly through mud clods. However I do need low RPM lockup for moving trailers around.

Would REALLY like a new 850 XP but don't know if I can afford it right now, hoping a few upgrades will buy me a year.

A clutch kit will give you more low end grunt/throttle response. You give up a few mph on the top end if that's a big deal for you. Very worthwhile investment IMO.

switz is correct on the low end increase for sure. how's your belt look? being it's a 500 it's not going to be a wheelie machine either way. you don't want too much high engagement or it will be jack rabbiting on you as well when going slow. imo.

EPI offers two styles of kits for your machine. The Sport Utility Kit for all around use and a Utility Kit designed for work use. The Sport Utility works great for a little bit of everything type of use trail riding, hauling, pulling, and mudding. The utility kit is more set up if your using the machine for work all the time.

Either will help your performance. Better throttle response, belt grip and low and power and acceleration.

I've been leaning towards the heelclicker a little, looks like the kit is adjustable. If I get bigger tires down the road I don't have to buy another kit, just adjust.
