Default Kodiak Spare Key

Anyone know how you go about purchasing a spare key for a Yamaha ATV? Are the ignitions all the same?

The previous owner could not find the second key.

Thx.

I went to the Yamaha dealer and purchased two key blanks. Than I went to a locksmith and he cut the two keys for me using the one original key I had as a master.

There is a # on the key - you can order up a whole new one from Yamaha - But I like the idea tha EEYOU mentioned.

John -- I tried sending you the Manual but it bounced back as the attachment was too big

Steve, my model is a swing arm type rear suspension. Is that picture for a IRS machine?

I found 2 grease fittings on the front drive shaft "U" joint. I'd have to guess that they use a grease needle of some sort because you can't get the head of the grease gun hose in there to get to the fitting.

I looked all over the rear swing arm and can't find a single grease fitting anywhere.

I looked on line and they say to use a "lithium soap based grease" on the u-joints

Hey John,

Didn't know you had the Kodiak with the swing arm - Doh! Anyhow email me again @ snowwmax@yahoo.com

and I will "print" the email as a PDF to make it smaller hence be able to send you via Hotmail. The manual covers 03-06 Kodiaks
