Default Yamaha Warrior NO spark

okay, i have this 99 warrior in my shop and i just figured id let you guys know whats going on with it. It wasnt getting any spark at all so i ran through the usual checklist and went from the plug all the way to the cdi. It all checked out good. Then i remembered a quad i had fixed in the past (arctic cat), and thought id try unplugging the voltage regulator. and Biggity Bam now its got the prettiest blue spark youve ever seen. It even stretches out over a half inch gap. So then i tested the voltage regulator/rectifier and sure enough its bad. Just figured id let some of you guys know about this little check to maybe save some headache. Later

okay so i got an update on this warrior and it is fixed and gone. It turns out that the red wire coming from the stator where it plugged into the cdi was rubbing the frame and grounding the exciter coil out making it fire inconsistantly. so i wrapped the wiring real good and put plastic shielding around it with even more wrap and then replaced the voltage regulator because it wasnt charging correctly and its good to go.

i hate finnicky machines.diagnosing one now. will try the regulator trick. thanks. btw the regulator sits next to the cdi at the back on later models, otherwise it is the electrical component with cooling fins.

sounds like a loose connection. check your wires and connectors.
