allright i will check the wires and connecters.so mike if the lights come on when i pull start it it wouldnt be the stator?

The stator has 3 sections that do different things. It has the alternator that has 3 wires together that would charge your battery and I would assume run your lights.

It has the source coil that is used for suppling power for the ignition system.

Then it has the pulser coil that tells the the spark plug when to fire.

At least this is how I understand it. Please correct me if I am wrong. I would say that the lights coming on when you pull start have nothing to do with spark. I have no spark on mine and have just replaced the stator that for sure had the pulser coil gone so I am just learning about the whole electrical system as well.
