Default 2000 ds650 oil tank line differs

I have a 2000 DS650 with a broken oil tank. The new one came with one less line. At the back of mine by the hard to get to nut there is a small brass line with a tiny hole in it. Can I somehow plug or bypass that line or do I need to get a different tank?

Thanks, Evin

ive had my tank off on my 03 and there wasnt a line back there just the 2 at the top and the main 1 at the bottom i would say if it is the same tank all around just the one line you should be able to cap it make sure that you have the other 3 lines though

Thanks for the quick reply. I am assuming this is some kind of bleeding line. I am going to plug the brass fitting where the big line goes into the case. Attached are pictures. If someone thinks it is vital to keep the line for the bike please post a reply.

the early DS did not have that vent to bleed air out of the oil system when changing oil - so a certain bleed procedure is needed - loosening slotted bolt inside oil filter cavity. Later on they put this on the bikes to keep from having to do that & eliminating a potential vapor lock/oil starvation issue.
