Default fan wont quit running

i have an 06 magnum 330, it keeps saying hot and the fan wont quit running. this before even starting it, about 70 degrees outside. is there any way to test the temp sensor in the oil cooler? other than the sensor being bad i dont know what to check. seems to be the only thing controlling it, besides the box that says sure power on it. im guessing that is some kind of controller, sounds expensive hope its not bad. any help would be appreciated thanks.

Disconnect the temp switch and see if the light and fan go off. If so, it most likely is the switch. The switch should be open cold and closed hot.

If the switch Is on the oil cooler it doesn't change anything. If I disconnect it the fan still runs.

its your temp switch. when the switch works correctly it will not run when plugged in and engine is cold. it will turn on when the sensor is unplugged or hot

between 04 and 06 Polaris had a recall on 95,000 Sportsmans and others for the ECM. a buddy of mine had the same problem with his fan, key off and out and fan still ran. replaced the ECM and was fixed.

So if this does happen to be one of the ones that got recalled will they give me a new one or do I have to buy it? I ordered a temp sensor but it hasn't came in yet. I'm gunna ask them before I install it so I don't waste 70 bucks.
