hey i had that exact 4 wheeler and exact problem, what happened to mine was the return spring inside the recoil was broken, i bought a new spring for about $10 bucks and took it all apart, cleaned and greased the inside of teh recoil parts and worked perfect the rest of the time i had the bike.

nope, if u just unbolt the pullstart from the motor it will come off as a whole. to get to the spring i think theres an e-clip u have to take off that will be right there, then u can take the plastic part off where the rope is on, and there might be an actual spring under that, it wont all come apart everywhere, just be careful and ull be fine, the coil spring im talking about is the last thing in the pull start, make sure that doens't come flyin off, it should be fine.
