CAN SOMEONE HELP ME! I have a 1987 Polaris cyclone... it's a 2 stroke pull start and i just got it back from the shop last night. today i was riding and it wouldent make it up a small dune so i looked at the motor and the rubber wasent over the connection from the pipe to the muffler... so naturaly i fixed it and rode for about a half hour! then i stoped for a while and about 15 min. later when i went to start it up it wouldent start. i pulled for about 10 min. and it finally started. when i got home i shut it off for about 30 min. and then it started up fine! will someone tell me why it would do that?

Once I tried something stupid.I took my airbox cover off my Honda and adjusted the air/fuel mixture.I rode it and it was much louder. It had no low end and had awesome top end(courtesy of not knowing how to jet). The next day it wouldn't run so I had to have the carb cleaned. It also made the valves start pinginging so they had to be adjusted.Your prolblem with the silencer was letting more air out at a bigger rate (just like mine)So your problem could be similar (possibly)I don't really know

Ditto Salty! The guy apparently has a promlem with his ATV and came in here looking for help, help the guy, don't ridicule him on his choice of ATV.
Why was it in the shop to begin with?
Did you check your plug?
Then make sure you are getting fuel to the carb, if you are, and its not starting, then a carb adjustment is in order.
If not theres your problem.
If these dont work check back.
