Default 2007 700 EFI trans problem

got me a problem Its a 2007 sportsman 700EFI and when im in neutral, low or high gear it reads N on the gear indicater. It had a very bad clunking and shuttering while under some load (going up hill or driving with brakes on) in either high gear or low gear. So i got code 25 (Transmission Input - Invalid Gear). So Im gonna check all the electrical connections and if that doesnt fix it replace either the little computer chip thing or the gear selecter? Is the clunking caused from the computer thinking its in neutral?

Sounds like gear switch on trans is bad, giving false gear inputs on speedo, which in turn can cause running problems. OPT
