Default Old Polaris Tech Need Help w/ Code 54

I was hoping I could get some help. I am working on a 2005 700 EFI throwing a code 54. There is no troubleshooting help in my repair manual specifically concerning this code. I have tested the coolant sensor and swapped out speedometer heads. The Polaris tech's around here have never run into this code before.

Thanks in advance.

My service manual says it has to do with the engine temp lamp...open load, short circuit to ground, or short circuit to battery...

So the ATV is running OK . I has a "check engine" light lit for 4 years a 96 F-150 that ran like a top ,the bulb finally burnt out one day. LOL

Clean the connections at the battery, have heard of some even being loose, then work your way up the wires from there.
