I am putting 22" Trail claw IIs on my new 400ex,which I love by the way. My question is this, I know I will lose some bottom end with taller tires but do I just climb hills and run tight trails in a lower gear or should I put a 14 tooth front sprocket in it. I am more into power than speed, its hard to find a place to run top speed besides on the road.

If any one has put taller tires or geared down please give me some input it will be greatly appreciated.

 

people do it all the time...

just run it with the new tires on it first, and if you don't have enough torque, then get a new front sprocket.
