[/IMG]Hey guys, I have done a search and it answered some of my questions about this bike the 300 xpress , but I am not sure of the exact year I am placing it between 94-97 bike, and it was given to me free by my dad yesterday, I cleaned up the carb and tank and she started right up. but I disconnected the oil lines and went strait to premix. Now my question is this,. is premix ok to do for long term, I mean it seemed to run fine and is a very fast bike as well. So fast it was a little scary for a 300. Must be the 2 stroke motor. anyway can I keep up the premix? and the jets where the oil goes into the carb do they need to be clamped off.? also the battery was no good so I had to use the pull start rope, worked fine of course but I see there is a fan in front of this motor, but even after the bike started the fan did not run. so my other question is this,,,, does the battery have to be good for the fan to run and does the fan need to run to keep the bike cooled down, I am scared to ride it with the fan not working. but it did run ok. now the third quiestion is this my lites on the handlebars is missing a cover I am guessing becuase I dont know what labels are supposed to be on which light. so I dont know if there is a overheating light on there or not. can anyone tell me what those lights are supposed to tell me other than low oil? I will post a pic up if anyone can explain thanks ahead of time.

yeah I was planning on getting a battery, but I was afraid to ride it for now with the fan not running. and i wasnt sure if one of the lights was a overheating light that i didnt know about. becasue when I would gas it hard or hit bumps hard a lite would come on, but now I am thinking it might be a low oil light or something seeing how I am not using the oil tube anymore with the premix.
