Here's my problem:

I have a Cr250 lever and perch on my 400. But it doesn't fit right.
For it to work I had to take up all the adjustment on the perch and at the motor.
It works ok (I guess), it just seems like it's "jerry rigged". And I have no room for any adjustments of any kind. Is this common with a CR set-up? Did I get the wrong parts? What kind of set up do you have? Please help

Maybe your cable could be getting worn out. Put the cr on mine and had no problems. You also may need some new clutch plates, Maybe? Check the cable first.

I have a CR set-up on my 400 and it works fine. Maybe you should try a new cable, they're only about $12.

I hope my cable isn't stretched. The quad isn't even a year old and I've only ridden with the new lever about 4 times!

Did you buy the perch and lever seperate or together? I bought Sunline parts and bought them seperately.
Did you buy "genuine Honda" parts or aftermarket?
Sorry for all the questions, I just have a hard time believeing that my cable is shot so soon. And this is really buggin' me

I bought a Moose CR250 perch and lever to replace the stock setup when my 400EX was about 6 months old, and had to take up some slack at the adjustment near the case at first...but, even then I did and still have enough cable left for further adjustment. You might try a new cable, as yours might have stretched if you didn't keep it well lubed. Also, the brand of perch shouldn't make a whole lotta difference, but the lever just might. You might want to compare some levers at where the cable end hooks into, and pick one that would take up the most slack.

I used Genuine Honda parts on mine. Most of the aftermarket stuff looked too cheesy for me.
