Default 2005.5 sportsman 500 HO CV joint failure

I had a catastrophic CV joint failure on my 2005.5 Sportsman 500HO. I have taken the strut off and tried to pull the fron axle out of the differential with no luck. I have read many threads and even pictorials on this site on how to remove the front axle. However I am still unable to get the front axle out of the diff. When I try to look up the part number to replace the whole axile and CV joint it asks me if it is a male or female connection. With out getting the axle out I have no idea. If it is female will it still pop out like the normal axle does? I have been reading items from this forum fo about 6 months now and all the advice that has been given has helped me allot. My bike has been a great bike with few problems. I am looking for some advice on how to remove the axile from the diff. I do not want to take it to the stealer.
I will try to attach pictures. Hope I can. Hope it helps. Guess I can't.
I will read some threads on how to attach pictures and try again latter.
Your advice will be well received.

See if you can get a long screwdriver or small pry-bar behind it and it should pop right out if it is like any that I have taken apart in the past. but I have only had 2 out and that was on a 01 magnum and a 08 sportsman. I have had to use a bar on front wheel drive cars before that were a little stubborn. But both times I pulled axle on an ATV they just came out by hand with a quick jerk straight back.

I've always had to spray penetrating into the diff for few days and let it soak in to help loosen the C clip on the inside. Then just keep pulling and tugging and try to pry it out. It usually has come out for me but not until a few days of lubing, pulling, lubing pulling, and then like magic it just seems to pop out.

Are you sure that there isn't a roll pin that needs driven out that holds the u-joint to the diff shaft?
