Default 2002 baja ds650 hitting rev limiter all of a sudden

Hey guys
Just the last week ive been noticing im hitting the rev limiter all the time, which ive own it over a year and never heared it once. when i bought the bike it has a big gun rev box on it. So now my question is why im i hitty the rev limiter now and never befor? Im not riding the bike harder or anything, or is there a carb problem or is my rev box gone?
Please any help will be thankfull
