Anybody Have A Street-Legal Quad/Side-X-Side
#1
I would like to legalize my side-by-side, but the laws here in NC can be strict. Just wondering if anybody has turned their ATV or side-by-side into a street legal machine, if so, what did it take, and what state did you do it in? My machine already has seatbelts, headlights, tailights, brakelights, and mirrors.

Actually you can. It depends on your state and or local rulings. Here in Indiana about half the counties will allow an atv or utv on county roads and along side of state highways as long as your vehicle is registered and has a registration sticker Issued by the DNR visible on each side for law enforcement to see. Some of the smaller local towns in my area are starting to allow them on the streets as well as long as it has registration, head lights, tail lights, brake lights and mirrors. They would prefer you had turn signals but hand signals will do since they will allow it for some of your older custom bikes/choppers on the road. Check with your local laws or with the DNR.

In Idaho you can buy a sticker that is good only for Trails. You can buy a Plate that is good for any road execpt for State or Fed road. You have to carry Ins, have a horn ( beep beep ) and have rear view mirror. makes it nice to drive around town.
