Anyone wanting to go to a 8-Plate Clutch keep all stock compnents and order (8-Fibers)Honda part#2201-MAL-600, and (7 Steels)Honda part#22321-KFO-770. Also order the springs from the XR-250. Clutch basket, pressure plate and hub can stay stock. No need to go Hinson until it breaks.

Thanks for sharing the info, SG1221! Looks like a good path to beefing up the clutch, multiplying the surface area and increasing spring tension. You should get a clutch that's not apt to slip, even with a hopped-up engine and bigger-than-stock tires. And, the "drop-in" feature saves lots of money, compared to a trick basket and all. Way to go!
