Default Fuel in Air Cleaner Box

I was doing routine maintenance on our Big Bear 400 and found about 4-5 inches of fuel in the air cleaner box. I have no Idea how it could have gotten there. The ATV has never been upside down or at more than about 45 degree angle. I cleaned the fuel out, replaced the air filter and started it and noticed the fuel flowing in through the intake from the engine. Anyone have any ideas as to why, or how to fix it?

Yep Float is stuck. Same thing happened to me with my ATV. Cleaned the whole carb and float and it was good to go.
