Default Just picked up a 99 sportsman front brake question

The person before me for some stupid reason took out the brake pads and run the quad like this now I`m fixing everything properly Its a 99 sportsman 500 my question is:
On the front right caliper there is some sort of sensor what is this and what does it do? Will i need to get a special rotor?
thanks Randy.

Thats the "Hall Effect/speed" sensor, it sends info to the speedo by wire, 99 was the first year they got rid of the cable operated speedo. No special rotor needed. Rotor is the same on both sides.
