Default Help with Yamaha moto 4

Hello , i have a 1985-1986 yamaha moto 4 not completely sure because the vin rotted off the bike. but the bike runs very well and the frame i can put the hand threw and its twisted all up. Btw it is shaft drive

I want too put the motor on the different frame but im not sure what frames would work for example i have a 1996 timberwolf 250 shaft drive would the motor fit on that frame? or what other frames / years please help

Thank you, Chris

i wouldn't think it would take too much if you are a good welder. i mean, new motor mounts and measuring. heck, people stretch the frames or modify them other ways, sure, a little welding goes a long ways. just gotta measure physical dimensions and maybe reroute wiring/hoses. just make sure everything will bolt up(crankcase, shaft/transmission, rearend), motor mounts can be moved, you have to make allowances for the rest.

its probably not a direct "bolt on", but it may be close enough to get by with

if you find an old frame somewhere, got a torch and welding machine, then the sky's the limit. just a little bit of flat scrap metal and you can make motor mounts and what not. heck, i've even found some frames in the junk yard/city dump grounds. cruise around town and see if you find any that people will let go for a little bit of nothing and BAM!, got yourself a project quad.......
