I have an 02 sportsman that I just purchased. It has a brush guard on the front and Id like to remove it. The only thing is it appears my winch is mounted to the brush guard. Does it only appear this way or is it actually mounted to it?

Hard to tell from the picture. Sometimes there are just shared bolt hole locations. You might just have to start some disassembly to find out. Worst case scenario you may need to buy a winch mount bracket if it really is only attached to the brushguard.

 

i would say it's the mount for the winch as well as the bumper. like mentioned above you will have to buy another bracket for the winch. thats a nice looking set up though it has. imo
