Glycol leak on kfx 400 water pump?
#1
I have recently had a leak on my water pump at the outer casing. I replaced the O-ring but recieved no good results..Still leaking. What might be the problem?
All the casing and inside seamed fine with no cracks or erosion. The old O-ring was in good shape as well.
Thanks.

Sounds like the water pump seal itself is worn.
That seal is what keeps the coolant and oil separated.
The manufacturers build a "weep hole" in the pump housing to alert you of the impending seal and/or pump failure.
Seal replacement requires draining both the coolant and oil, removal of the pump housing, impellor, seal.
You might be able to tilt the quad on its side and therefore avoid draining the oil, but the oil may already be contaminated and require changing anyway.
