I'm gonna try putting a Banshee axle on my Raptor, I've heard it works and is 3" wider. My questions is, about how tight do I tighten the axle nut? I would hate to side load the bearings too much, or do they have a spacer in between the bearings to keep this from happening?

The factory manual has a very specific procedure for tightening the axle nuts. It says to initially tighten the inside nut to a specified torque value, then tighten the outer to a specified value, then re-tighten the inside one to a specified value, and measure the offset between the two. If you don't have the factory manual and a torque wrench (170ft/lb min) that fits the 50mm axle nuts you might want to take it to a dealer. I took mine to one near me and it took the mechanic about 5 min. I slipped him $10. and he was happy. I did not feel comfortable just cranking them down with a pipe wrench like I have heard of some people doing.

I've had great luck with a pipe wrench. I locked it down, and drove the quad forward to tighten that bad boy. I'm sure I could've found another way, but so far, so good.

Well guys, it doesn't work. It would work if you didn't mind it being 1" wider on one side and 2" wider on the other. I ordered me a Lonestar 2+2. Anybody need a stock Banshee axle for $60?

It's strait, I bought this axle used too, it was replaced by a wider axle. It's never been straitened as far as I know, can you tell by looking at it?
