Default Front gearcase pinion leak

Hey guys! I could use some advice before sinking time and money into this... So I changed all the fluids on my '08 SP 500 HO efi including the front gearcase (demand drive plus). The problem is that now I have a pinion seal leak all of the sudden. I thought it was odd that after draining, I couldn't get the specified 9.3 oz back in, in fact I only got about 6 oz in before it came out the fill hole. (the bike was level on the stand) Did I overfill it and cause the seal to leak? If so, do I need a new seal now or will it stop leaking if the proper level is established? If it is overfilled, what's up with popo putting the wrong capacity in the manual??? Thanks for any info.

There's no need to measure out the exact amount of fluid just fill till it starts running out then install plug done . Same for the tranny .

OK...are you just guessing, or is that in another manual somewhere? I'd hate to burn up the gearcase just doing a test run.

Went to the dealer yesterday to ask about parts for the front pinion seal. $160 bucks because it includes the whole ADC coil and whatnot all else in a kit...can't buy just the seal. What a ripoff! He also informed me that these seals fail quite often since they had ordered like 5 of these kits this year. I'm left wondering if I should get rid of this machine now and change brands...only 500 miles on that seal.

These guys show # 3234405 as just a $7 bolt. #11 OEM motorcycle and ATV parts from Honda, Yamaha & Polaris – Cycle Parts Warehouse

like mentioned ,no need to measure the front diff fliud amount, you just fill them until it spills out the fill hole. I hear the ADC a is more complicated and problematic front end.
